Natalie and Spencer’s Iconic Manx Wedding – By Tom Wyatt | Isle of Man Wedding Photographer

The Isle of Man is becoming a popular destination for me after taking on my first wedding there back in 2023 for Meaghann and Conor. From there it snowballed into four more weddings thanks to the word spreading quickly on the island. Despite the worrying amount of flight cancellations (I’ve learnt my lesson and now travel two days early), I’m looking forward to adding to my portfolio as an Isle of Man wedding photographer.

Natalie and Spencer’s day took me to the North-West side at Ballaugh with a stop in Ramsey for the morning preparations.

Natalie rented an AirBnB in Ramsey for bridal party preparations whilst Spencer and the groomsmen got ready at home in Sulby. Natalie’s dress was a stunning piece from Suzanne Neville London whilst Spencers suit was from the Isle of Man’s very own Noble Suitor.

It was an early start for the wedding party as the ceremony was to be held at 12pm at Old Ballaugh Church, a quaint church with history dating back as far as 1231.

From the church we headed to the reception venue, which was Natalie and Spencer’s very own marquee and now available for weddings on the Isle of Man at Pitch & Pole. The reception featured so many well thought out details including table tennis (which inevitably turned into beer pong), some absolutely beautiful cars, and a visit from the couples two adorable dachshunds.

During a bit of downtime after the wedding breakfast, we snuck off to a nearby field for some couple photos and let me tell you, these are some of my favourite photos I’ve ever taken. The day was overcast with some sunlight bursting through the clouds giving us some dramatic lighting.

There was no posing involved, just some prompts like ‘take a slow walk whilst holding hands’ and ‘look back at me whilst you walk’. Getting the editorial look doesn’t necessarily mean having to pose and these photos are a perfect example of that.

After a quick 15 minute break all to ourselves it was party time, kicking off with the cake and straight into dancing with an IOM favourite DJ, Allan Vannin.

Following a live singing performance by a friend of the couple, the evening began and went on late into the night. With the venue overlooking the beach, we also took the opportunity to get some golden hour photos with the last of the days light.
